The only downside is the actual retainer, it gets loose after every set, but it can easily be replaced.
Finch –
Is actually 197.6lbs but it was way cheaper then similar items

I bought the 200 pound version (or 2x 100 pound dumbbells), and it’s pretty much exactly what I expected. The price is cheaper than most other products I’ve found so that is good.
However there are some downsides that should be acknowledged.
1. The handle is thin compared to most gym equipment. I could wrap my whole hand around it and have my fingers pressing into my palm. (I’m 6’1 for reference)
Whereas whenever I’ve went to the gym, the barbells and various dumbbells usually only have the very tips of my fingers able to barely touch my palms. This change how you grip it, and is pretty noticeable overall.
2. This one should be pretty obvious when you think about it, but compared to normal dumbbells you have to be careful when you put them to rest on your thighs – else you might end up stabbing yourself with the extended handle. I suspect this is a downside to all ajustable dumbbells, so it’s not a big deal, but worth knowing about.
There’s some other minor things, such as the nurling being pretty rough (but I don’t mind this one), and the box being really heavy when it arrives.
**The product is what I expected, and what I wanted** – ajustable heavy dumbbells.
You see other products on amazon that advertise something like being able to change the weight within 1 second of putting it on the tray, but I find that’s dumb – How often are you changing the weight of the dumbbells?
To change the weight on these, probably takes about 30 seconds. The washer screw thing on the end is fun to spin. You just have to make sure it’s quite tight, and maybe re-tighten every few sets just to be sure.
If you’re doing a superset of something like Bench and Row, or bicep curl and tricep extention, you can use the same weight.

I bought a set for myself and my teenager. They are perfect. There’s not much more to say. You get what you pay for here! Well worth it.
