I was very excited to receive this. Shipping took longer than expected. I think it was shipped direct from Thrival by the box and not an Amazon box. The pieces are extremely hard, sturdy plastic and bigger than I was expecting. In all the photos it shows silicone tops, But what actually arrives is extremely hard black plastic pieces . I also think the neck piece should be included since it’s pictured in many places. But it is not, apparently you have to go to their website to buy the neck piece and the silicone tops. This will more than double the price of it. The idea of this is good, I think it does help, but it is so darn uncomfortable to position yourself on these really really hard thick pieces. I think it is misrepresentation that they do not include the silicone tops with them. I am still deciding if I am going to send it back or not. The idea is great, and I think it will help pressure points. It already has the few times I’ve used it, but it also leaves you very bruised and sore because it is so hard.

I have an anterior pelvic tilt as well as chronic low back pain and my main culprit is iliopsoas for both! I can only get it fixed when I see my massage therapist, but now I can do it for myself at home and feels just like when I get a massage! I also inquired about getting the right product and all that came with it and the customer service was absolutely outstanding! They were fast at replying back to me and very informative with answering all of my questions. Bill was absolutely amazing and I can’t wait for everything that happens with this company I will be promoting this company till the day I die!!!

When I got this, I liked the solid quality but the silicone cover was missing. Without it, the bullseye was still effective in the relief. It’s helpful that it’s adjustable compared to others and can be packed away as well. I wish it was lower to the ground so I can lie down fully.
I emailed the company support email and they shipped the missing pieces. Took some time but glad they fixed it. I’d recommend this.

*Edit- after 2 weeks of using this, I find it’s been very helpful. It’s useful for different hip & thigh muscles that are hard to reach, and very helpful for tense calves. Glad I went ahead and got this.
Original review: I just got this yesterday and tried it last night. My hip has felt tight and has ached for a year or so. That’s my fault for not exercising and stretching as much, but once that problem happens, it’s not easy to address. This works to help release the iliacus muscle and seems to have a very positive effect on other muscles that are affected by it. I already feel much less tension and pain.
This is easy to assemble, disassemble and pack when traveling.
The meat grinder and other attachments are a super hard plastic . I didn’t know there were soft covers available, but there are. Since I didn’t purchase them, I doubled a blanket and draped it over the whole thing to soften the pressure. Even with that, it was a lot of pressure, and I feel bruised today. BUT we all know getting to tight muscles like this is going to involve discomfort, so that was no surprise. The takeaway for me is that it seems to help considerably with hip area tension- it’s similar to a deep tissue massage- it may hurt pr be uncomfortable at the time, but it help considerably, so I do it. I’ll continue using this . Curious to know if the soft covers make much difference.
Also curious to know if the Aletha hip hook is any more comfortable. If so, I’d definitely consider trying it based on my experience w this…

I have scoliosis, degenerative disc disease, vertebral compression, sciatica, and arthritis in my back, as well as hip flexor tightness that sometimes leads to constant, painful spasms.
The Thrival system has been such an incredible find! It’s been the first real source of relief, and complete compression release, in my low back in YEARS, even outshining the pain relief I get from my (very good) Rolfing (structural alignment) treatments and chiropractic adjustments. There are days when I wake up barely able to walk, and this can turn it around for me where stretching, yoga and NSAIDs can’t. And those meat grinder heads on my hip flexors is divine.
I definitely recommend getting the whole system, since different heads are needed to target different muscle groups and do all of the techniques in the quite-impressive user manual, with full color photos and well-written, complete instructions. And the Thrival’s adjustable placement of the heads on the board is crucial – if you buy a non-adjustable tool, it’s just not that likely to hit in the right spots for your body, especially if you want it to work on multiple areas like the Thrival does. Precision is important if you want a safe, effective release.
The only bummer was that I assumed the Soft Covers were included (didn’t read the description carefully enough), and Amazon doesn’t sell them. They’re necessary for some of the setups, and prevent adding pain to muscles and skin. You can get them from Thrival’s website directly.
This was well worth the price for me. It has increased my mobility and provided effective release tools for my whole body. It has reduced my pain, and frankly, it’s empowering: I can do more, more comfortably. So grateful to have found this company’s products.

After watching some YT videos about what I can do to relieve my iliacus/psoas pain, I decided to try this product. It has made a HUGE difference in my pain level in just a few days and I’m using it religiously now every day. The pain got better after just the first use and now it’s a LOT better. If you’re in pain, for the price, this is something I’d definitely recommend trying. Good quality, easy to use. My one feature request is to make thr round tools a little smaller so they’re easier to get on and off of from being on the back.

I’ve been using it for my psoas, glutes, and shoulders and it’s been pretty good releasing the tight muscles. I’ve seen other reviews on the durability but so far no issues yet.

I have started to incorporate this product with my stretching routine to manage the significant tension i have in my low back, hips and IT band associated with an arthritic condition. This is a well made and super adjustable product that beats a lot of the other things in my arsenal for ease of use, portability and ability to apply this to almost any body part with tension.

I initially bought this device to help release my psoas, preferring the design of this because of it’s adjustability. I now find my myself using it on multiple muscle groups everyday.
