Indicators on the side, good durability, good grip

Frankly, I’m in awe of these fitness bands. I have some short lightweight ones that I’m using to help rebuild an injured shoulder, and figured these would be a good step up. Well, it’s a a quantum leap! These are tough bands and even the 15-pound one (which is orange, not reddish as shown in the product photo — see my pics) is a challenge for me.

The bands are thick and sturdy and look like they’ll last. They get progressively wider as they go up in resistance but the thickness is about the same. I like that the set runs from 15 to 50 pounds, which means I can use the 15 pound one for arm workouts and switch up to the 25 pound one for squats and leg exercises. I tried the deadman lift with 35 pounds but I’m not ready for that and had to drop back to 25 pounds. The set is definitely one I can grow into; meanwhile the higher resistance weights are suitable for my husband without him needing to do 100s of reps to get a workout.

I found the bands easy to grip without being slippery, although weightlifting gloves might be a good option if you’re doing a lot of work with them. I’m going to try one with an over-door strap I got with a fitness tube and see if they’ll work for lateral pulldowns.

This brand is recommended by Dr. Hyman, so I purchased these hoping to start strength training.

Unfortunately, I can’t figure out how to use these correctly. I wish they’d include some basic steps to use these safely.

I only got two bands Green and Orange. The picture shows four bands? I got mis led or shorted?

Pros: Oblongs that become circles to indicate what the tension and stretch is. The 4 pack variety is really nice for my boyfriend and I who are at very different skill levels. They are very stretchy so we both can do squats with them and stretch them from the floor to the shoulders without too much strain. Good weight distribution. Easy to store. Very good supplement for calisthenics and perfect for working out at home.

Cons: The edges will cut into the skin after a while especially doing bicep curls. Highly recommended to use gloves during certain exercises.

I use almost exclusively resistance bands for my home workouts. They are generally viewed as inferior to free weights – oh contrare! Resistance bands offer a variable resistance that matches the power band of your muscle output more closely, increasing resistance as the band lengthens. This gives you a better workout for many things and is completely customizable by adjusting the length, giving you an infinite number of options. Thera Band has the advantage of a flat surface which means you can do exercises that involve ankles, thighs – places you cant grip with your hand. Also, they are just top quality. I resisted due to the price, but got this set as a review bonus. The exercises these are indispensable for are hip stuff where it goes around the ankle. The round ones just roll around. It comes with some reasonable instructions and the exact weight resistance is marked on the bands. Anyway, this completes my home gym without having lots of heavy weights lying around and I love it.

These resistance bands are a quality set for adding strength training to at-home workouts without using weights. The set comes with 4 bands that are all the same length, and the manufacturer provides some example exercises to use with the bands. The rubber seems very sturdy and resistant to tearing even when maximally stretched. The texture of the bands makes them easy to grab without having them slip around too much. At 5’7”, I can stretch them from my legs to my shoulders, and that is around the maximum I can stretch them (see photo). As such, I cannot use them for assisted pull up exercises (they are too short), but they can work for shorter distance stretching. For me, I have preferred using the heavier bands to do leg exercises, particularly deadlifts. Although they cannot replace everything a barbell can, using multiple of the heavy bands can provide sufficient muscle activation for me. If you are a very experienced lifter, these bands may be better suited for arm exercises, since they will likely be insufficient for leg activation. If these bands will fit a niche in your exercise routine, this set is definitely a quality find for a decent price.
