I liked that it was easy and fun to read, with just the right amount of theory (1 minute read) while also diving right into getting started.
I also liked how each page is relatively consistent because consistency is key when trying to build good habits, without having to take out an entire artist’s case like you see with the other journals where it looks like people spent 2 hours planning and drawing their day. This journal takes me a few minutes before bed time and morning to fill-in. To truly see results I would suggest to be thoughtful about what you are writing and really recap the learnings, and hot tips as it can be easy to go on ‘auto mode’ after phase 1 and not be as dedicated, although the book does a good job of providing reminders of key tips every few days/phases. I love the various quote and it’s a great way to end the day. This has been a functional book to keep me accountable to myself, easy to use without dedicating too much time nor feeling like it’s an added to-do. Rather it’s like an alarm clock that helps me get my day started with intent, direction and focus.

I ordered this journal when I was given an extra class to teach, and my planned time for writing my next novel evaporated into grading and lesson planning. I’ve never been an early riser, but I decided that I’d have to be if I wanted to finish my book. Enter the Morning Sidekick Journal!
It’s been a great resource so far, full of great tips and helpful motivators. It asks for the just the right amount of interaction–not so much that I’m spending loads of time writing in the journal, but enough that I am able to mindfully plan for the day. I’m in week two, and have so far kept up with my goals of going to bed earlier, rising earlier, and yes, working on my novel every day. Even better, I’ve felt calmer and more organized for my classes, as I’m not sleeping until the last possible minute and then rushing to get ready and get out the door.

Having been recently diagnosed with ADHD at the age of 38 I had no idea why I would struggle every morning to get moving or even slide into my tasks for the day. I had no direction on how to build a morning routine that would make me, a neurodivergent, successfully productive in the morning.
I found that this helped me create a series of habits through baby steps and trial and error. It was humorous and gave encouragement. I felt like despite it being a journal, someone was actually “Talking” to me. I particularly liked the sharing of information from outside resources and reading about how others created their morning routines. While most of the routines of successful people won’t work for me since my brain doesn’t work like that (despite trying) I definitely can see how they would be useful for others. – Again I loved that this journal was all about guiding you through your trial-and-error process with no pressure.
I will definitely get Vol 2. Thanks so much for creating a great journal series.

I’m not much of a journaler – I tend to give up on things easily. I’ve made it through three weeks with the journal and it’s helped so much with my morning routine. I mostly like the insights that serve as reminders each day. I find the act of writing out my morning routine the night before helpful, even if I miss something. It’s still keeping me more on track. Generally, I’m getting up about an hour earlier than I used to, and I’m getting more done. I also like that the look and feel of the journal is more weighty – it feels a lot like an old-fashioned journal and it’s well-made. It makes it more of a pleasure to use than if it was made cheaply. I wasn’t sure if I’d like this, but I’m happy to say it’s working and, while I’m not quite becoming “a morning person” it is helping to rewire my brain to get a lot more done in the morning, which sets the tone for the rest of my day.

This journal helped me focus on how to make my mornings better in simple, easy-to-understand language. The book itself is nicely compact. The binding seems a bit cheap, but the content is the most important. I like the ribbon bookmark (could use one or two more!) and the elastic closure to keep everything intact. I’m part way through journal one and, while not perfect, I’m thinking through how to make my mornings more meaningful to me amidst all the “have-to-do’s.”

I absolutely loved this morning journal.
I have thought to myself for years that I wanted to try something different in order to feel healthier, happier and more productive. I was quite impressive by the speed time was dragging on and on and none of the changes I wanted for my life were happening. Then I realised you can not expect different results if you stick with the same old plans for everything.
My husband had already a nice morning routine, then I thought I could create one for myself! Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying you can not do it by yourself, but it’s really tough if no sort of accountability… Then I saw an advertising for this sidekick morning journal and decided to give it a go. What a hit I made!
I’m currently on day 9 and I haven’t missed a day so far. It’s still not very easy, but all the sections are meticulously made to develop within you a sense of commitment, which has helped me immensely.
There was one day that I was feeling just not right and wanted to skip my routine (drink water, meditate 5 minutes, exercise 15 minutes, read 15 minutes and eat a fruit). Then I went back to page 33 – they say “for the first time you truly struggle, what would you tell yourself and what would your actions be?”
I read my answer, which was, in summary, the first time you don’t do your morning routine is just the beginning of failing to do it most of your days and for the rest of your life… Change starts here and now, no excuses! Can you guess what happened after reading this?? Started my routine straight away…
I’m already feeling healthier, happier, and quite more productive and I have the feeling of accomplishment from the first hours of my morning and it makes me feel better for the rest of my day!
Couldn’t recommend enough this book. If you really want to change the way you live, get this book and start building up habits that you can take for good.

This journal is really helpful in getting you started for the day. It puts me in the right mindset to be productive throughout my entire day, which makes me feel more accomplished and positive. It’s also very easy-going in the sense that you don’t feel pressured to do it every single day if you can’t/ don’t feel up to it- just come back to it when you’re ready.

Me encantó!. Si es un reto despertar temprano y crear hábitos buenos… esto definitivamente te auxilia.
Una buena compra… no te siente solo en la tarea y te da la pequeña motivación que hace falta.

My boyfriend and I have been using this journal for the last couple weeks and love it so far! It’s easy to get board with self-improvement journals (or any journal or planner for that matter) after awhile when you know what to expect every day. I LOVE The Morning Sidekick Journal because each day provides new content with tips and tricks for us to think about to help keep us motivated while still maintaining a routine for habit building and positive priming.
Before we started using it we had trouble getting out of bed before 9:30 on most days, as a result we would end up bypassing a lot of our personal health goals like morning meditation and working out in order to get straight to work, this usually lead us to feeling stressed and a bit guilty every day, no matter how much work we got done on those days it never feels like we did enough.
Now we’ve been consistently going to bed by 10pm and waking up at 6am every day (even weekends!) with almost a full 3 hours to positively prime ourselves, accomplish our personal goals, and create a plan for the day. So far we’ve only missed our routine 3 days, this was while we had a seminar that started early and was so far away that we would have had to wake up at 3am in order to do our routine. We still woke up at 6 but missing our routine made a huge difference in our mood and focus throughout the day. For anyone trying to be more productive and would like to start giving their body and mind the attention it needs to be successful I would HIGHLY recommend this journal! It’s an excellent coach and I love that it’s set up as a 66 day challenge, it makes it that much more motivating! 🙂
