Update (6/29/21): 11-month update: I purchased this bike almost a year ago for my wife, and we thought it would be good to update the review. The bike has been great, and she has gotten a lot of use out of it. Despite the use, it is still in great shape. It still functions as it should and feels stable. Initially, she was a little worried that it may not provide the intensity she was looking for (as a runner transitioning to biking), but she was pleasantly surprised. She said that the upper limits of the resistance spectrum give her muscles a great workout. She is delighted with this bike and will continue to use it for many days to come.
Update (8/8/20): My wife was able to check the accuracy of the heart rate monitor by comparing it to her Garmin watch. The results were that the bike’s monitor precisely aligned with the Garmin’s. Indeed, the calories burned was also around the same amount.
I purchased this bike for my wife and it is the perfect fit for her. She was going to the gym regularly, but when the COVID shutdown happened, we began to look for something she could use at home. She was hesitant because, as a runner, she was unsure if she would be able to get a good workout from a stationary bicycle.
When the bike arrived, I told her that I would put it together for her when I got home. When I arrived, the bike was sitting together in the living room, ready to be ridden. She said that it was simple because the instructions were clear and straightforward. All of the necessary tools were included, and the hardware was labeled according to the steps they are used.
We were astonished as to the quality of the bike’s construction. It is very durable and feels solid both when moving around and riding. The bike folds up nicely, and it is easy for her to move it back and forth across the house.
She has been using it for a few weeks now and is very happy with the resistance levels. Levels 1-5 are not challenging at all, but 6-8 provide an excellent workout. Levels 9-10 are very challenging and correctly mimic riding up a steep hill.
All in all, she is delighted with the bike and probably will not return to the gym or to running.
Pros: Great fit & finish; easy to assemble; good instructions; quiet operation.

Great bike for the price! It is sturdy, comfortable, and fairly easy to assemble. It took me about an hour to put it together, but I wasn’t in a rush and read the instructions thoroughly. I recommend putting it together on carpet or a sheet so it doesn’t slide around while tightening bolts. I’ve used it every day for about three weeks, and I am quite impressed by it. The side bars are surprisingly useful, as is the water bottle holder on the back of the seat. So far, everything works well, and is super quiet. Also, it doesn’t take up much space, which is awesome for apartment living. If you want a bike with really high resistance, this might not be the bike for you. I switch between 7 and 8 (out of 10) for resistance and am happy with it. I bought it because I’m looking to get in better shape and enjoy my workouts. This bike is definitely helping achieve both goals 🙂

I took it easy ,chose an easy resistance for the first session.

I am thrilled with my decision to purchase the SF-B2721 Comfort XL Folding Recumbent Bike by Sunny Health and Fitness, and plan to keep up my weight loss (I’m working on it – have lost 37 just prior to getting this bike) while strengthening my legs! I am an avid Amazon shopper and have not been asked to do this review. I just wanted to reach out to handicapped, obese and/or elderly people like me that have no idea what to buy when shopping for an exercise bike on a small budget.
I am trying to figure out why there is only one review on this gem. Come on folks – it’s adjustable from an upright bike to a semi-recumbent bike (a bike you can sort of lean back in) – where else can you get this, especially at this price? So, I am also going to lay out (among other things) my physical status out below, much to my embarrassment, so that you can easily determine whether this is the bike for you.
Assembly: EASY. My husband helped hold the frame while I put the stand on both feet/stands. I didn’t need him after that. I did the whole thing myself. Just follow the instructions. Probably took me 45 minutes but I was just relaxing and taking my time, the whole time sitting comfortably on my sofa. NOTE: I did not attach the handles/grips that attach around the seat. My butt is much bigger than the seat and I knew that would just be in the way – that I would probably be sitting ON those side bars. If I ever shrink to a small enough size, I will add it the way it was intended to be used.
Mounting the bike: First off, I am somewhere between 5’3 and 5’4” tall. I have a short inseam, probably like 26”, maybe less. I am a 64 year old female who is 250 lbs, who has had TWO full knee replacements. I never did adequate rehab after my surgeries so I have a terrible range of motion in both knees. I cannot lift my leg over the frame to get onto the bike without assistance, but I don’t mean from my husband. I figured out that if I place the back of a chair close to the bike and brace myself on it, I can swing my right leg up high enough to get onto the bike with minimal effort. Once I’m up there, I’m good to go. Also, it has a 300 lb. weight limit, and it feels pretty darn solid. I don’t feel like it’s going to tip over when mounting.
Performance: The bike is QUIET. Both the manual controls and the digital monitor are uncomplicated. I am very comfortable cycling on this machine, even with my poor range of motion. Pedaling is extremely smooth and easy.
Comfort: I haven’t used it long enough (just got it yesterday 4/19/18) to know how comfortable the seat is yet. I did purchase the only gel seat cover on Amazon that looks to have the exact same shape and it was expensive. I purchased it just in case the seat starts feeling hard after several minutes. Will update this review regarding fit and comfort enhancement level once I receive it. Update on seat cover. A bit larger than the seat but matches shape of seat perfectly and the fact that you tighten it with the cord allows you to make it so tight that it stays exactly where you want it. It is not overly large for the seat. Highly recommend. Size and weight: Unbelievably lightweight (38 lbs) and has a very small overall footprint! We have a tiny apartment and I dreaded the thought of having to lug it into the bedroom if and when company came over. Ha! It’s so light that I can move it myself without even using the front wheels. I have a herniated disc in my back so that’s saying a lot. It looks cool because it takes up such a small space in our living room (faced toward the TV of course!). I have not folded it up yet for any type of storage but I doubt that I will store it much. The whole point is to keep it in my face to remind me to actually use it.
Just get it. Can’t beat it.
Update: Used a few times now and it’s just perfect.

The bike was so damage severely that metal was vents so they cannot attach to each other to assemble and the paint was chipped in multiple places and one of the wheels was cracked. It came in a dirty damaged box that was re taped up all over the place. It just seems like I was sent someone else’s return. It’s going to take a month to get my money back. Who ever has my money gets to make interest off it as I wait for my money back. Good to know the customer is the one who inconvenienced for time, money, and effort. Never again. Would not recommend this to anyone.
