Are you like me and hate going to public gyms? Then this is pretty great. I’m a know procrastinator and lazy person. But I have found ways to combat that so I can work out. For example, sometimes I play video games and some games have long wait times between respawns so I get a set in. So it’s Death, Set of 8 reps, Death, Set of 8 reps, Death. Obviously I’m not a hardcore gym junkie but for someone who is simply trying to get a little bit of exercise in this works. One thing I have noticed is that inside some of the weights you can hear the weighted balls or whatever they are shift around. So I do wonder about the sturdiness of it. Also do note that the handles will make your hand callous.

Muy contenta con las pesas , por el precio están muy bien

Top quality and reasonable price fast shipping and looks very professional. Highly recommend.

This product is great for a beginner trying to start lifting without making a significant investment. As others have pointer out, the weights are plastic shells filled with sand. The seal isn’t good, so sand does spill out. I put some gaffers tape over the openings to solve that problem. The parts had some greasy coating which washed off with some dish soap. The value proposition is that this is much much cheaper than competing products, and I was able to work around the problems associated with cheapness.

Update: I am so grateful for this product which got me started down the right path to strength and health. I purchased this just over two years ago and started exercising just a few minutes each day. I immediately saw progress in the weight/reps/sets I could do for each exercise, doing a little more each week. This motivated me to keep progressing. After a year, I purchased a higher-capacity adjustable dumbbell since I maxed out the weight on this one. A few months ago, I got a bench, a barbell, and a set of weights to go further. I now have spreadsheets to track my progress and workout schedule and I spend ~2 hours each week lifting. This product allowed me to get started and realize how rewarding exercising can be. Everyone has different exercises they enjoy, so I recommend this as a cheap way to get started lifting to determine if it’s right for you.

They get the job done, get a nice beginner set of dumbells for a decent price. Easy to switch weights around what more can I say..

  6. marilu

Easy to assemble. Can sometimes loosen after a couple days so just double check and tighten before your workout and you’ll be fine. Decent quality may not last long if dropped or dragged around as the plastic can get damaged. Overall good grip, adjustability and size. Nice beginner set to start somewhere.

Overall happy with the weights. Their weight per plate are pretty accurate, and the black looks good. The only issue i had is that one plate has a bit of a deformaty on the plug, but overall i would recommand it.

shipping and delivery turnaround better than expected. product is the material themselves. condition appears to be sturdy enough for most practical purposes. vinyl disc plates weigh the amounts stated on product near exactly. nuts fit over threading very smoothly. overall very satisfactory purchase.

    1 bar + 2 nuts = 765 g = 1.69 lb

disclaimer being my review is submitted before through vetting. i make no critique of the vinyl disc long term durability.

    Pros:
The plates don’t clank when they bump against each other or adjusting the weights (as opposed to metal).

The plastic handles are very comfortable to grip. They’re textured enough to provide a good grip, but not so much that they eat into your hands or require gloves.

The weight bar is covered in plastic and there is no way to get metal splinters from the end of it (other weight sets had this complaint)

    Cons:
The washer that secures the weights tends to come loose over time, and needs to be tightened occasionally. Annoying, but not a dealbreaker. It’s not like it comes loose when you’re using the weights, so as long as you check it once before lifting each session you’ll be fine. People report a similar complaint with the Amazonbasics weight set, so it’s not unique to this one.

They seem fairly bulky for how heavy they are, but I’m not sure if metal would be more compact. Looking at the amazonbasics set, it seems like the weights are smaller, which is more convenient when doing certain exercises (weights don’t bump against your thighs when doing shrugs). The size issue is my biggest complaint.

    Nitpicks:
These are vinyl weights, so the weights are concrete with a plastic cover over them. According to other sites, the downside of vinyl is that you can potentially crack/damage the concrete core of the weights if you drop them on a hard surface enough times, whereas metal will last basically forever. I never slam the weights down, so this isn’t really a concern for me.

Visually, they look kind of cheap, and don’t look have the high quality/indestructible look that metal has.

Overall, they are solid and do the job, but I think I would’ve preferred to get the amazonbasics set, mostly due to the size issue.

The best thing about this product is the price tag. For $35, you get an OK granularity of adjustment. You can have each dumbell be 3 lbs, 5 lbs, 8 lbs, 13 lbs, 15 lbs, or 18 lbs. Supposedly, the bar itself is 2 lbs each.

Beware of the flat edge. It is not going to stop your dumbbells from rolling with any meaningful amount of momentum.

If you do bicep curls, as the plates touch your chest, it may turn and undo itself. After several reps or a few sets, it may need retightening.

The thread part is also pretty long, making shoulder press tricky if you have the dumbbells facing parallel to your body:

Its good for the price but its not metal the weights are plastic filled with sand of something but it does the job i just didnt know that

For some reason, I decided to start working out with dumbbells a week before the virus lockdown, and these were delivered a day before I started working from home everyday. I’ve been using these almost everyday for about a month and a half now and I love them.

The plates are really easy to switch quickly, and despite what other reviewers have said, I haven’t had any issues with the collars needing to be tightened every few days. If you just put them on there tightly enough to begin with, they’ll stay until you want to take the off. I think the trick is giving the plates and collar one last spin together when tightening them to really lock them in.

The only issues I have are small. The handles are molded and there’s a slightly sharp line running from one end to the other where the seam of the mold was, and this can make the weights a little uncomfortable to hold unless you twist them the right way. The other issue is that the sand inside a couple of the weights has loosened up and slides around inside them. I wasn’t expecting solid steel plates, but I could do without this. Still, it’s not really a big issue.

If you can get these on sale like I did, they’re well worth the price. Even at full price they’re probably still worth it.

Very easy to assemble. Box was heavy as hell lol. But worth every cent.

    cons:
they are a bit clunky at first. But they are easy to workout with. Sometimes in between sets I would tighten them. But with how long the bar is they are no where near slipping off.

    Over all great buy
