I love boxing for a workout but in a serious manner. I love using good equipment and have always used the Ringside brand but decided to try this out as it was on sale. They are thicker and more padded than the Ringside ones I have used. This is both good and bad. Personally I cannot feel the punches come through as much…yes while this is the point of hand mitts I prefer to feel the punches so I can give more feedback and time my motion with the mitts.
However, when good strong punches come through the padding is nice and the recoil feels good. They are a little heavier than I like and are bulky which is a little annoying. The wrist strap is also not great, they cinch my wrist and are not comfortable but are sturdy. I am mostly using this for a couple of females who are learning to box, both small and learning to use their power so I think that as they improve I’ll like the mitts more.
Using with a large powerful boxer would be great, as the mitts would protect and the weight would be to your advantage.
The feel of these is nice, easy to hold and wear. They look stylish too and are built to last. They appear to be able to take some punishment. doing combos on these are no problem but again the bulky size might make it harder to do counter punching combos. That is my personal preference. Also I don’t like that it would be very hard to wear hand wraps with these…as I like to wear then trade off.
Why 5 stars?
even though I wrote a lot of critical points they are made well, beautiful and do what I needed. At the price they are worth more than you spend. I take boxing equipment seriously and would have stuck with Ringside but felt like changing it up. I do not regret it. Not the best but easily good enough for aspiring boxers for workouts or training.
Worth the money and investment, don’t buy cheep (not good for the trainer, not good for the boxer). If you are not willing to invest for these or better mitts then you probably should consider going to a boxing gym or not boxing at all given the risk for injury due to cheap equipment.

Fits nicely in my hands. I don’t use the wrist straps so I’m able to put on and remove the pads easily. The pads don’t fly off my hands as well.

I bought the focus mitts because it was on sale for Prime ($37 vice $50) and I had a $10 gift card so I got the mitts for $27, which is actually a really good deal considering it’s brand name and quality material. The mitts were packaged well and delivered quick. It’s a good weight, size and quality for sparring. Also, it’s very comfortable and secure while in use. The reason for the 4-star rating is because it had some foam sticking out its seams. The material is brand new and I would think it would be in a more prestine shape from the manufacturer. Hopefully as I use the mitts more it won’t deteriorate quicker than it should due to this noticeable flaw upon receiving.

I got these to practice punches for my Muay Thai class. These are super durable, and they feel great both for punching and holding. I like that they are a bit bigger than normal focus mitts. High quality for the price, you really can’t go wrong.

Bought these for my son to use during his class. Now he doesn’t have to use the stinky shared mitts. These are perfect. Good quality and work well. A little heavy, but not too bad at all. Better work out. He loves them.

Avevo già testato la qualità di un paio di guantini RDX che trovate qui con foto e recensione RDX Pelle Di Vacchetta MMA Guantoni Grappling Sparring Guanti UFC Sacco Allenamento.
Soddisfatto, mi son procurato dei colpitori nuovi da accoppiare a dei vecchi e validissimi Leone e fare sessioni private in 4.
Ho visto i vari modelli, scegliendo questi perchè:
+ più recente fattura
+ superficie di battuta ampia
+ ottima protezione di mano e polso
+ scretch sul polso per una stabilità assoluta (per colpi abbastanza forti o strisciate violente con gomiti)
+ materiale e cuciture ben fatte e solide
+ postura della mano curvata con “pallina” centrale riempitiva (ed assorbente) su cui poggia il palmo
+ prezzo davvero ottimo e concorrenziale(circa 20/30 euro rispetto a dei buoni Leone e pari prezzo di alcuni Everlast che poco mi piacciono)

Al momento hanno subito qualche lezione di allenamento con fasi abbastanza pesanti, testati pure su qualche ginocchiata tanto per sondarli per bene con la dovuta fiducia verso persone con esperienza di anni e anni, ovvero che sanno assestare precisamente il colpo.
(ATTENZIONE : per ginocchiate e/o tibiate e/o calci usate i paracolpi dalla superficie e assorbimento giusti, che vi permettano di tenerli aderenti al corpo e lasciar sfogare potenza col colpo).
Un ottimo acquisto finora, a parte l’odore un po chimico all’apertura della busta ma svanito dopo pochissimo, non hanno mostrato nessun segno di cedimento o piega. La mano resta salda e il laccio al polso aiuta parecchio. Direi che finora su due articoli RDX mi son trovato egregiamente. Aggiornerò dovessi notare stranezze; per il momento promossi a pieni voti.
