Just right to help work out lower back tension.

Good shape and diameter for me to roll back and legs.

Im a physical therapist and have long been a fan of RAD’s duo rollers. But I don’t recommend people use them (or foam rollers for that matter) on their low backs. In addition, a lot of my patients simply can’t tolerate small balls or hard balls for the upper back either — The Helix really fixes this issue with the way it avoids pressure right on the spine AND is soft enough and shaped in a way to spread out the force. It’s really really key for upper back and neck and shoulder issues. I love it and can’t recommend it highly enough! It’s also a great replacement for a foam roller for travel, as it will fit in a carry on. I use it with the stick that RAD sells when I travel for longer than a weekend.

this is a quality roller which is brilliantly designed.. personally i would characterize this as an intermediate/advanced level of roller since it does require some know-how and experience to use for your body type beyond what you read in the provided guide. i also love that it has a hole/void in its design whereby it can be fitted onto a thin pole for use as a sort of manual roller or tiger tail
my only gripes about it have to do with the size and weight, which were both quite a bit higher than i anticipated and thus not incredibly ideal for travel in my carry-on luggage (measures out at ~13.25oz/0.83lb in weight and ~12.25″ in length).
i get that a roller this size at just shy of a full pound is not exactly super hefty, but when it comes to minimalist traveling as my partner and i tend to do, every ounce counts

Not as good as the RAD balls…. a LOT less pressure and direct attention, but a nice massage for someone who does not need deep tissue [like I do]- so fairly, it’s a great item, just not my FAVORITE RAD product.

I would 100% recommend this to anyone with lower and upper back tightness

I balked at the price but I’m glad I bought it, a world of difference from your regular roller.

The shape and dimensions are good, but the material is just not hard enough to work the soft tissue.

Perfect for back tension. I’ve used everything on the market. This is top notch and worth every penny.

Wonderful item to have! It works great to help relieve spinal stabilizing muscles and let vertebral facet joints realign. Took a few days to get used to but now that it – and my back – are “broken in”, it’s very comfortable to use. I agree with another reviewer that it’s best used shirtless or with tight-fitting clothing, as it tangles in loose shirts pretty quickly. It’s easy to use on the road; I’ve carried it with me to rugby tournaments, vacations, business trips, everything. Don’t balk at the price – it’s very sturdy, and has more than paid for itself with fewer visits to the chiropractor. Highly recommend.

I am glad that I followed my chiropractor’s advice and I ordered one of these for my upper back pain. Because of the gap in the center, the RAD roller offers more direct pressure along your spine without actually pressing down on your spine. Basically, it reaches your pressure points better than a foam roller.
I have had upper back pain in between my shoulders for 2 years now and this is the only thing that has helped me relieve my own pain at home. It’s definitely not meant for people who haven’t foam rolled before. It can be very painful for some people, but for me it’s the exact type of relief that I am looking for.
It’s great for the upper back in between your shoulder blades. It also provides relief on my lower back right above the hips. I am usually not as aggressive with it as I am with a foam roller. The RAD roller is made of hard rubber. I slowly creep over my pain spots and I even just hang out on it while I relax my neck and hands.
I recommend this to everyone. I can’t speak on how it works with the rod, but this one does not come with it.

Excelente.
