I feel like an idiot.
I’ve wasted far too much money on fragile Twins, Title, and other supposed gear bags, only too watch them deteriorate from moisture and/or zippers fall off in just under 6 months. To this day, I don’t know why the heck it’s so hard to design a bag that can hold fighting equipment, likewise transport their sweaty counterparts back home (until cleaning/drying).
Goodbye peeling plastic from compression clothing. Sayonara snapped, cheap plastic zippers. Take a hike stupid hard plastic bottom inserts that don’t maintain shape. While Meister products are very much hit or miss (their wraps and ankle braces are an abomination), this X-Large gear bag is a stud. Durable mesh, steel zippers, two big side compartments for mouthgear, keys, water bottle, etc. That’s what I’m talking about.
Speaking of which, don’t buy the smaller version. If you have any hope of hoping shin pads, gloves, wraps, headgear, a towel, and change of clothes…the XL is where to be. I could even stick pads in their (albeit snug).
UPDATE: Over a year in, I still love this bag. Meister tells me to hand clean it in a sink (cold water + detergent) air dry. And it’s very easy to do so, dries quickly.

This bag is truly famous. Went to training one day and at least 6 of my training partners had the same bag which was crazy! I can see why they gravitated towards this product. The bag is big enough to fit gloves, shin guards, clothes and more with still more space in it. The bag has a design feature where it can breath so that odor won’t accumulate. Also, the price is a steal!

This bag is massive. Holds everything it needs to hold and more. Bought for Taekwondo equipment. Holds full gear with loads of space. Love that it has side pockets which zip up and mesh which helps with the gym sweat smells. Good quality. Would definitely recommend if you need a very large holdall.

This bag is great for my son’s football gear. Since it’s all mesh the stinky equipment breathes. Had this bag with my older son and it lasted 6 years of hard use! Bought another one for my youngest.

This is an awesome gym bag, made of an awesome material, with a few downsides that keep it in the 4-star range. I would absolutely buy it again, but I’d also pay a few dollars more for an even better version.
The two best things about this bag are its mostly solid construction (with the exception of the main zipper, which is just okay), and the terrific material it’s made of. Holding the bag, it feels durable and substantial. No part of it feels cheap or poorly made. I’ve only had it a month, but I get the sense it’s going to stay in good shape for years. The handles are tough nylon, and the stitching is tight, so I doubt it will fray. Also, unlike some other bags that seem to fall apart at the seams, it’s hard to imagine any part of this bag failing or coming un-stitched.
Other than the handles, zipper and logos, the bag is entirely made of this terrific mesh-type material. It’s kind of hard to tell in the pictures, so I was a little concerned when I bought the bag; but it ended up being exactly what I was hoping for. The material feels thick and tough, but flexible as any nylon fabric. But, because it’s mesh, your damp clothes get plenty of airflow. If I go to the gym at lunch and put my dry-fit shirt and shorts in the bag after, by the time I’m home they’re mostly dry. And, maybe more important, it’s impossible to imagine this bag smelling like a musty swamp (like some of my old bags) even if it’s used to transport, say, a half-dry swimsuit or something.
The mesh is maybe 10% transparent, so you can kind of see the shape and color of bulkier items, like gloves and pads. But no-one is going to be able to see your sweaty gym-shorts through the bag as you walk to your car. It’s not as durable-seeming as real ballistic nylon, so I wouldn’t take this bag as a main suitcase on a trip to Cambodia. But for a daily workout, it’s pretty perfect.
Other people have complained that the bag lacks a solid bottom, so it’s less structured than other gym bags. This is true. Your clothes are not going to stay perfectly folded and organized in here. However, I feel like the rigid box/suitcase-like construction of other gym bags naturally introduces many points of failure into the design, and makes them much less durable. So, for me, the lack of structure is a worthwhile trade-off for tougher construction.
I purchased the ‘Classic’ size, which is actually a little on the large size for shorts, shirt, shoes socks and a towel. If I want to work the heavy bag, I can toss my gloves in here and have PLENTY of room to spare. Actually, I’d be fine with a slightly smaller size; but I don’t find it to be uncomfortably large to carry.
There are two downsides to this bag that kept it from the 5-star category for me. The first is the main zipper. It’s not crappy, but it’s not great either. Scale of 1-10, if the zippers on a GoRuck, Tom Bihn, RedOxx or Patagonia bag are a 10, and your typical zipper that’s solid is an 8, this zipper feels like a 6-7. Not awful, it hasn’t started to catch yet; but my prediction is it will be the first thing to fail on the bag. Not a deal-breaker, by any means; but not great either. My dream version of this bag has silent, bulletproof-yet-butter-smooth YKK zippers like some of those higher-end bags.
The other downside to the bag, as far as I’m concerned, is the branding and logo. The logo on this bag is not at all subtle; it’s HUGE and attention-grabbing. I’m not involved in combat sports, and I work out in a regular gym where no-one has heard of smaller martial arts brands like this one. Sometimes when I’m walking into the locker room, or, say, chatting with someone on my way to my car, I feel like my bag is saying: LOOK AT ME! MEISTER! I WATCH MMA ON TV! THIS IS SPARTA!
Should the logo make much of a difference, if the rest of the bag is quality? Let me put it this way: I can’t picture my father carrying this bag to the gym, with the logo as huge and aggressive as it is. If I gave him this bag for his birthday as-is, he’d be like, “oh my old bag is fine.” If I gave him an identical bag with no branding at all, he’d be like, “hey, this is pretty cool.” So, take that for what it’s worth.
My dream version of this bag is styled a little more like, say, a classic GoRuck GR1. Solid black, with minimal branding. Another way to go would be a black-on-black, or (worse, but acceptable) white-on-black “Meister” brand name down the side.
Overall, great bag, would buy it again; with a few changes it’d be perfect.

As a martial artist, I’m happy with this bag.
Space/Volume —
I’m able to carry a ton of stuff in this bag without it bursting at the seams. I typically carry my Muay Thai pads, 2 pairs of boxing gloves (16 oz and 10 oz), headguard, 4+ pairs of hand wraps, pair of Kali sticks, Top Gear shin guards, a pair of shoes for running, socks, shorts, t-shirt, groin cup and it holds everything fine.
Note that I don’t close my bag since it goes only from my car trunk to the gym and back, so I like to keep it open to let it air out. I could still pack all that stuff and zip the bag close if I was very efficient with my packing, but I don’t care about zipping it close that much.
Durability —
I’ve had it for 3 months and use it 3 times a week and no sign of wear and tear so far.
Price —
Could have been lower, but it’s alright since nothing on the market (in my knowledge) compares to the overall
package.
Material —
Its built of thick mesh, so that’s very helpful to drying out items for serious users who want low to zero maintenance.

I purchased this gear bag to hold all of the martial arts gear my daughter is required to take to her dojo. Bag works great and easily fits gloves ( Boxing and MMA), chest pad, feet pads, shin guards, helmet, and uniform. This bag had plenty of extra room should it be needed and try he mesh helped with the usual smell that accompanies training gear. Great product.

I got this primarily for the mesh breathability, which doesn’t disappoint. It’s strong, 95% opaque, and lets air flow through easily. Great for sweaty gear.
It’s a great size – stores full sparring gear and then some, but is unstructured so that it doesn’t take up more room than needed when it’s not full.
I absolutely hate the giant logo on the side, but it’s worth dealing with. The mesh is just that good.
