its better with sand, the one i have leaked like crazy! made a big mess. but, after replacing the water with “play sand” this reflex bag is great. a 44lb bag of sand cost me $8 after tax at the home depo. you will also need a funnel to help pour the sand into the base. you can easily find funnels at canadian tire, the bigger the better. the one i used was only $4 and was for meant for oil changes but worked great for sand. for extra weight, i would recommend getting one of those “umbrella base, sand bags”. the one i bought holds up to 85lb of sand. it cost $30, there are cheaper sand bags but they won’t hold as much weight. it will get messy, so do all of the sand pouring outside. but, still have your vacuum cleaner handy to suck up the excess sand when you bring everything inside your house. lastly, to cut down on noise from the rod vibrating and rattling. i recommend, wrapping the rod and the plastic base on the ball with plumbers rubber tape. i used “magic wrap” from canadian tire. $12 but worth it, now when i punch all i hear is the actual ball. keep in mind, if you end up wrapping the rod with rubber tape. you will not able to adjust the height, without first removing the rubber tape. i know all this seems like allot of extra work and slight bs… but well worth it!

After having received and used the product, I must say that I am pleasantly surprised. I owned the previous version of this reflex bag from MaxMMA and all of the complaints that I had regarding the product (which was still good overall) were actually addressed with this new version. The bag is sturdier and more shock resistant, the base does not constantly unscrew itself and become loose, and the adjustment knobs are easier to grab with gloves. Overall very good product for the price.

    The Right Choice

Bought May 26, 2015, reviewed Oct. 9, 2015. This reflex bag is proving itself to be a durable, versatile, top quality reflex bag. Even people who expressed disinterest have been spontaneously pummeling it.

Gravel in the base is working very well to keep it upright and stable. With gravel the total weight is 40 pounds. No one volunteers to carry it up a flight of stairs but it can be moved.

A spring at the top of the base of the stand, instead of at the bottom of the bag, briefly took some getting used to but gives the bag more adjustability and responsiveness than the more stationary bag punched at a local store. And this eemore bag has a really good feel, with or without the one-size-fits-most gloves that are included. The bag has needed to be re-inflated occasionally just like a basketball, but not so often as to be inconvenient. The pump that comes with the bag makes it easy.

For legwork, the minimum height of 41 inches from the floor to the bottom of the bag is a challenge for less limber people here, so most have been jogging around the bag as they punch it for an additional cardiovascular workout. One torso twisting puncher appears to be getting a better core toning workout than others who move shoulders and arms only.

The bag accepts lighter, repetitive impacts of long duration and far more energetic impacts equally well. After nearly five months it is showing no signs of wear. .

The company, eemore, has been responsive to questions, returned phone calls, and made themselves available to ensure no customer regrets. eemore’s customer service is like amazon.com at its best, PLUS the one-on-one help of real, knowledgable people. The included setup instructions and online photos at eemore’s site made assembly easy. And it has been good to know eemore people really are available if there had been any difficulties.

One locking washer was accidentally lost in assembly, an inexpensive fix, and one that could have been prevented here by keeping even better track of the little parts while assembling.

Despite buying this online, so unable to see it and try it out first, it has proven to be a great purchase. This is a product from a company that truly likes satisfied customers and doesn’t just say so, and is a quality bag that is proving itself to be worth every dollar, is a good workout and a lot of fun, and will be for a long time to come, Would the bag in the store that wasn’t eemore be the same? It was still for sale.

The assembly instructions were a bit on the vague side. For example, the instructions do not clearly explain how much air should be pumped into the bag. I want a good feel but don’t want to damage it by overfilling with air. Should it be firm similar to a fully pumped basketball or a little looser? To be safe, I inflated the bag enough so that it isn’t completely firm which is satisfactory for now.

It seems the “cap” (Marked “E”) was mixed with the “blockage segment” (Marked “G”) in the instructions. This made for a bit of a head scratcher but common sense kicked in and I was able to assemble the product.

There is a small roll of tape included which apparently addresses the issue of screws coming loose with use of the bag. The instructions for the tape were separate from the main instructions and were a little unclear so I called the seller (eeMore) for clarification. I was called back a day later by friendly staff member who answered my questions and offered to email me pictures to help with the assembly (I read somewhere that there were pictures on the eeMore website to help with assembly but I couldn’t find them). The tape is supposed to wrap around the screws to help keep them from unscrewing with use of the product. There are two screws to wrap with tape. One affixing the bar to the base and another attaching the bag to the bar. The instructions say to wrap the tape 2x. I did it at least 3x. After using the product for 20 minutes, I found the bag still unscrews after a few punches, for which I have to turn the bag to screw it back down mid-workout. It doesn’t come undone enough for the bag to fly off or anything. It is mildly annoying but I can live with it. In short, the tape does not seem to be a true fix for the problem.

There is a note in the instructions regarding “temporary elastic fatigue” in which the bar will “appear slanted or have a bend” after “heavy use.” The bar already had a slight bend upon completion of assembly. There are instructions on how to relieve this temporary elastic fatigue which I have tried, but the bend persists. It is only off by a few degrees from standing straight up. It isn’t a deal breaker for me but I would’ve expected the product to stand straight as it shows in the ads.

I filled the base with sand. After watching some review videos online about the product, I decided to buy an extra olympic plate to help weigh the base down. There were review videos that exhibited the product would tip over with a solid punch. I tested the bag after filling it with sand and it did fall over with a good hook. I saw videos that recommended a 10 lb plate. I went overboard and bought a 25 lb plate. I figured I could use it for other exercises. I can’t vouch for use of a 10 lb plate but the base doesn’t budge filled with sand and the 25 lb plate. The olympic size was recommended (vs standard) as the opening is big enough to accommodate the bar and the tension knob. That being said, it was a bit annoying to spend an extra $35 on the plate to weigh the base down since I didn’t have an extra plate laying around the house.

Noise was a factor for me in considering the product as I didn’t want to bother my neighbors while using it. The bag does make some noise as expected. But it doesn’t seem to be extremely bothersome. It was difficult to judge the noise based on the review videos I found on YouTube as the enclosed spaces probably amplified the sound. It makes enough noise for me to avoid using the bag too early in the morning or too late at night. I’m not sure if the noise will increase or decrease with continued use.

Despite some small annoyances, I am satisfied with the reflex bag. I’m not extremely picky so I can live with the minor flaws at the price I paid for. The bag works just as I imagined it would. I was originally in the market for a heavy bag but decided to go with the reflex bag as a starter piece of equipment. I knew that I wouldn’t be able to use the reflex bag as I would a heavy bag. After using the reflex bag, I find that I still definitely want a heavy bag in the future. I’m a 225 lb male at 5’10” who exercises 4-6x a week. The base is easy enough for me to move. I basically wanted a product that I could use for novice boxing training. I also wanted a piece of equipment I could use at home for a short workout if I didn’t want to go to the gym. The reflex bag works for these purposes.

The quality of this product isn’t too bad but it just isn’t designed for anyone tall. Ibam 6’1 and it’s at my chest level. I have to punch down or really crouch in an awkward way. At it’s highest speed it still slow, noisy and the base is heavy enough when fill with water so it slide around easily. It’s great for a young kid though.

Was very excited to get to use this product but unfortunately came with missing parts and I had to mess around trying to send it back. So if you want to buy this for someone’s birthday don’t because you’ll be let down just like I was

I love this punching bag speed ball. The package was very light and easy to take up four flights of stairs so I’m very grateful for that. I got this because I wanted to focus on exercising more and practicing my punches but I couldn’t get a heavy bag as it would be too much work getting it up all the stairs so this was the perfect thing. It works great, I use it every day. I find it to be very sturdy and reliable. This thing comes in pieces so you’ll have to put it together but it’s honestly quite simple and easy, comes with instruction and everything that’s needed, including an air pump for the ball, and it even comes with gloves. You do have to put either sand or water into the base stand, or whatever will work for you to keep it in place and stop the whole set from moving around while you’re heating the ball. As it states, the bar is adjustable and works quite nicely for me. Overall I’m incredibly please with this product so far, and I’ve had it for about 2 weeks now. I use it every day, and am not gentle with it but it has yet to show any wear or tare. Definitely recommend it for anyone who’s interested in a fun workout for whatever reason, as I am having a lot of fun using this.

  10. We bought this for my son for Christmas and we absolutely love it but the bag isn’t holding air all of a sudden. I’m looking for a replacement just for the bag I would buy it if I could find it but I seem to be ordering the wrong size and brand.

I bought this item for my son in December and he loves it but all of a sudden the air won’t stay in the bag how do I get a new bag? I can’t find it to buy it
