It’s a tasty zero calorie electrolyte powder with some vitamins. I toss in a 1/2 oz of lemon juice to make it taste even better. I’ve had several flavors and all have been good without any fake sugar flavors or weirdness.

I LOVE this brand and these electrolytes are the best I’ve tried. Been taking these for years! They taste great, make you feel good especially after a work out! Good health benefits and are great quality! Hydration is exactly what I need! We love them in our family! Peach mango is our new favorite flavor!!!

  3. Kaitlyn

I always mix this stuff in my protein shakes and smoothies and it has ZERO taste at all. Mixes easily and is NOT chalky. This collagen powder is jam packed with high quality collagen derived from great sources, and I love that there are several types of collagen all packed into one powder. i wouldn’t buy anything else

I’ve been using this powder for years now—it’s more cost efficient than the new trendy brands, helps me drink more water, and the extra electrolytes etc. help with my EDS and migraines.

I’ve tried several flavors and do have favorites:

Best: Peach mango—tastes almost like peach iced tea, not chemical tasting, mixes well, never get sick of it. Pineapple coconut—great for summer, somehow tastes almost creamy like a pina colada. Blueberry lemonade—what I wish the blue raspberry tasted like, love the tart kick.

Middle/least memorable: Watermelon—fun for summer but I do recall some separation. Raspberry—full flavor but got sick of it before finishing the tub. Grape—less like cough syrup than I worried it would be, but not one I’ve repeat purchased. Lemonade—reliable but does have a chemical/diet aftertaste (somehow more than the blueberry lemonade).

Worst/have drawbacks: Blue raspberry—tastes like a blue lollipop, which I’m into, but this one always separates especially bad and I find I get sick of it before I can finish the tub. Cherry pom—my mom’s favorite and it does have a full flavor like peach mango, but I find it a bit cloying and cough syrupy.

Seems like a good quality product but it’s unbearably sweet. Customers who look for this kind of product are health conscious and not used to consuming sweet food and drink. I’m now very sensitive to sweetness and I don’t enjoy the taste anymore.

We have tried 4 or 5 of these now and loved each flavour so far. Peach mango was really good. This brand is our go-to electrolyte powder. I use it either in the morning to help with hydration, or during a workout. I have also used it while sick to help with dehydration. I like that it comes in a tub as opposed to little packets. I find it a better value this way.

WHAT I PURCHASED: Key Nutrients, Electrolyte Recovery Plus, Orange flavor.

WHAT I USE IT FOR: Electrolyte replacement (ER) for intense, high elevation gain hiking that causes a great amount of sweating and electrolyte loss. Hikes typically range from between 6 to 11 miles in length, and between 3,000 to 4,000 feet elevation gain.

HOW I USE IT: One scoop/serving per hike, normally intended to be combined with 16 ounces of water, but I combine it with 28 ounces of water.

    OVERALL REVIEW:
I had been using 1 PowerAde (zero sugar) bottled sports drink per hike for a while (plus regular water and food like bananas, energy bars, etc.) I was stocking up on PowerAde when it went on sale for about $0.70 per 28oz bottle. It was easy to pack/use and the flavor was good, but I wasn’t happy with the minimal ER ingredients (similar to Gatorade). Also, the price has been going up in the last couple months (inflation!) PowerAde also only has a couple flavors that don’t have various color dyes (e.g., Yellow #5, etc.)

I researched a lot of different ER products. The only ones that seems cost effective were powdered (versus bottled liquid). Of those I narrowed down to a few that were both cost effective (per serving) and had a good balance of ER ingredients. This product by Key Nutrients had the best over all balance. In fact it seems to be among the highest in electrolytes and one of the lowest in price. The cost per serving is around $0.35. That’s about half of the lowest PowerAde sale price I found, and yet the ER ingredient levels are far superior in this Key Nutrients product.

When hiking using this ER drink I don’t seem to get as thirsty as fast, and more importantly I’m a bit less sore and for less time after hikes. This seems to indicate it is indeed working better as electrolyte replacement than PowerAde.

    FLAVOR REVIEW:
The orange flavor tastes somewhat like Tang, as other reviewers have mentioned. It’s not bad, but also not great, which is part of the reason that I use more water to dilute it. I’m in it for the electrolytes not the flavor. That being said if it tasted awful like some reviewers say I wouldn’t drink it. It takes o.k., which works for me. Other reviewers have noted that it doesn’t mix completely and a little of it settles to the bottom, which is true. However, that hasn’t been an issue for me at all since all I do is simply shake the bottle a little before taking a drink and it mixes back up fine. I look forward to trying another flavor or 2 in the future, perhaps pink lemonade and raspberry.

BOTTOM LINE – HIGHLY RECOMMENED: This is the best value I’ve found for ER combined with low cost. Also, I bought another container of the orange flavor today because Amazon has it on-sale for $4.50 off (so now only about $0.30/serving).

RECOMMENDATION TO KEY NUTRIENTS COMPANY: Bring back the trial/sample option on your website or on Amazon. It would be great to try all the flavors before buying the full-size container and potentially having to hassle with a return. I’m willing to pay a fair price for a sample pack, as I’m sure are many others.

This is a great product. I read the reviews and purchased on sale. The taste is good and definitely something I’m glad I purchased. I’d probably buy again but wait for a sale.

  9. Shopping Fav

This is a staple but I get the ick sometimes like sometimes it taste fine, good, great even. Sometimes it’s gross, medicinal

  10. Dimosthenis

The only negative in my opinion is that it has sweeteners. The taste is pretty good though.

  11. Randy Woods

great taste but a little sweet for my liking. what i do is make the mix then water it down by 50% then its fine. to each there own
