Assembly was relatively simple if you first watch the assembly video. The seat made a scraping sound while in motion but Hydrow sent me a new seat that corrected the problem. Other than that, the rower is quiet and smooth and the extensive videos well done and very motivating to get me to frequently row. When ordering, I was hesitant about whether the screen would be large enough for an immersive experience versus the more expensive rower but in using it I am very pleased with the smaller screen size.

I ordered this a little over a month ago, and my wife and I love it! We’ve both been looking for a guided workout routine that would keep us motivated to stick with it. This has done the trick for us, because we’re both a month in and actively look for reasons to do it.
I have desk job where I’m on the computer all day doing IT support, and the stress and posture aggravate my lower back and cause my shoulders to tense up. This has helped alleviate that tension and pain. I’m starting to notice my gut getting a little more tone as well which is a plus.
For the Mrs, she’s looking to tone her stomach as well, but she’s also looking to stay heart healthy, and so far it is helping.
Although we could use this strictly as a rower, we find the subscription too be worth it since it’s cheaper and more convenient than both of us going to a gym, and more effective than self guiding through a workout simply listening to music. One subscription works for both of us, so that’s a plus. I particularly Nick and Aquil as instructors. They make the workouts fun.

The rowing machine might be great, but I would not know because none of the parts (hex key, washers, bolts, pins) needed to put the rower together were included. I called Amazon customer service and they said there was no way to get in touch with the distributor, and I had to call Hydrow. Julio, from Hydrow, has been helpful, but Hydrow should not allow this distributor to sell their rowers.
I was told I would be receiving the needed parts this weekend, but I still have not received either of the shipments.

I was on the rowing team in college and have lots of experience on the water and on various rowing machines. The Hydrow is now my favorite rowing machine I’ve used. The monthly membership opens a variety of workout possibilities on and off the rower, but it serves as a high quality rower even without it. The pull is so smooth and it really is the closest machine to feel similar to being out on the water. It is such a convenient piece of equipment to have at home, I’ve used it almost every day since it arrived. It’s fits nicely in the space I have and is not too overwhelming for a one bedroom apartment. The set up video made the assembly a breeze. I’m looking forward to all my future workouts with my Hydrow!

I absolutely love rowing on the Hydrow Wave. The best part is that you get very high quality guidance from actual rowing athletes in beautiful locations around the world. The workouts are never boring no matter how long. I also appreciate that you pick up new tips and techniques from each instructor, definitely a plus coming from a Concept 2 which I have been using for decades. I only wish there were different tiers of membership. Although you do get a lot for your money it costs as much as some gym membership that I’ve had. They should have a membership which has very basic features such as being able to adjust the resistance and time as well as saving your progress, or even being able to connect to external apps like Strava but hey, I suppose they got to pay their talent to keep the new content coming. At any rate, if you want the highest quality rower at this price range, with excellent guidance and don’t mind paying a premium subscription for it then the Hydrow Wave is excellent.

I never thought I could fit a high quality rowing machine in my apartment, but the Hydrow Wave is my answer! It has a sleek compact design plus a large screen for guided workouts with absolutely gorgeous scenery. It was delivered right to my door and was super easy to assemble. Rowing on the Wave is top notch with a quiet, smooth pull and comfortable grip. Plus, I can store it upright whenever I’m not using it. Although you can use the machine without it, the subscription opens up so many workout possibilities, from rowing in beautiful destinations around the world to finding your yoga flow. This is the perfect at-home alternative to a gym membership and much more convenient!

Received our Hydro Wave & within an hour I was ready to get “on the water.” Setting up was a breeze with easy to follow instructions and the provided tool set is all you’ll need to put the Hydrow together. We decided to have the Hydrow in the basement instead of on the main level. Because it is heavy (definitely a two-person lift) we unboxed it in place and brought each pieces downstairs. For the most part, assembly is a one-person job. At Step #3 (Connect the frames), having a second set of helping hands would be best. After that, it’s smooth rowing. There are several tutorials (e.g. Why Rowing Machine Form Matters; Indoor Rowing: The Complete Beginner’s Guide) available to help beginners like us. We intend to purchase a membership to get the most out of our workouts.

I’ve been debating buying a rower for a long time and finally pulled the trigger on the Hydrow Wave after looking at many alternatives. My home gym is pretty full already, so I chose the Wave over the Hydrow to save space. It came really well packaged, with simple to follow instructions (both video and a paper guide). Took me about 20 min to assemble then another 5 or 10 to get my profile set up, etc. The outdoor rowing content is great – I’ve never been on the water so it’s all pretty novel. The seat and pulleys are quiet and smooth. It’s so much quieter and smoother than the Concept2 rowers I’ve tried at CrossFit gyms. Highly recommend – a really sturdy, quality piece of equipment with great content.
