5 reviews for FLYBIRD Weight Bench, 1200LBS Weight Capacity Strength Training Bench Heavy-duty Adjustable Workout Bench

  1. DaDayster

I purchased this bench 5 months ago and secured a really good price for it here on Amazon.

    *** CONS ***
…. My only concern after using the bench so far is the black covering material. It moves and stretches on the surface more than I feel it should, but that could just be me, as I’m pretty picky.

    *** PROS ***
…. The bench arrived on-time, was well packaged, no damage, no scratches, no torn material and all hardware and tools were available.
…. The assembly process was very easy. I had it put together in less than half an hour.
…. The bench is extremely durable and heavy duty. I routinely use it for flat chest press, incline press, flat flies, incline flies, seated dumbbell presses and more.
…. The bench is very well constructed with a sturdy and well positioned footprint for securely lifting heavy loads.
    …. Thick pad.

    *** OVER ALL RECOMMENDATION ***
…. The bench is a “Fantastic Bench”.
    …. Highly Recommend.

I Hope this honest review helps anyone looking to upgrade their current weight bench, and/or wanting to invest in a great quality heavy duty bench.

Bought this after doing a bunch of research and reading tons of bench reviews. Was initially considering a cheaper, lower quality bench, but upgraded to this and am very glad I did. It is sturdy and stable, and I’m a 6’4″ guy who weighs 250lb. I’m not young, so I’m only lifting 150-lb max at the moment. But that is still 400-lb, and the bench seems absolutely fine with that.

The long section of the bench is solidly supported underneath with two full-length metal beams. This was something I was concerned about because it is essentially cantilevered and not supported on the end. Not an issue.

Fabric is an upgrade over the cheaper models, and heavy and well stitched.

Finish looks like a crinkle powder coat, and seems industrial.

Has two small wheels for lift and moving it around. Works fine, and my wife moves it out of the way to do stretching with no problem. It would be nice if the wheels were larger, like roller-blade wheels, for instance. But this works fine enough as is.

Simple to adjust. Stout and solid. Seems very durable. Has adjustable feet for leveling, but I’ve never used them because it is level as is.

I got a discount “coupon” offered when I went to buy it, and saved $40. Made it well worth it, and I’m fully satisfied.

Recién me llegó hoy, vino muy bien empaquetado, algunos de los bloques de unicel se rompieron pero cumplieron su función. Vino sin rayones y el plastico perfecto. Las instrucciones son bastante sencillas. No faltaron piezas.

  4. M. Gotts

This bench worked great compared to the much cheaper FlyBird bench I was using when doing dumbbell only exercises. Once I got a squat rack and barbell/plates, I needed an upgrade and this was what I went with. Initially, it seemed great. It was easy to put together, was very stable for chest supported rows, etc. However, as I continued using it, more and more things began to bother me about it.

    1) It has no wheels. A bench isn’t necessary for every exercise so this thing gets moved around a lot. But moving it without wheels is a bit awkward as you have to lift the entire bench. Sometimes I’d misplace my grip and accidentally adjust the seat instead of picking it up.
    2) The gap between the seat and the rest of the bench can make things awkward. When I use this for bench press, I spend more time than I’d like positioning myself on the bench properly so I’m always in contact with it where I need to be.
    3) The width of the bench is not uniform and gets incredibly narrow. In fact, the most narrow part of the bench is 10 inches, which leads to me having to flip it around for bench press so I don’t have a shoulder blade hanging off of the edge of the bench. I’m 6’3 so this was an issue for me, but others may see this as more of a pro than a con.
    4) Its sturdiness has occasionally come into question. At the beginning of my workout journey I would step on it for supported pull ups. The creaking it made during this made me a bit uneasy. I was even more uneasy when it did that while bench pressing heavier weight.

  5. DaDayster

Very sturdy bench. Beefy supports. Many adjustable benches of this style are quite deceiving. Watch out for the weight limit. I’ve seen some with a 300lb. limit! Also they can be quite wobbly, not the best feeling when you are lifting heavy right over your head. The adjustment tabs on them look like they could easily fail. No way am I trusting my life to that. No worries at all with this one. This thing is super sturdy and stable.
Assembly was super easy and strait forward. Tools included.
Cushions and cover seem like they will hold up for quite a while. Not overly heavy if you need to move it around. I use it with my power rack so I need to move it in and out if doing squats, cable workouts, pull ups, rings, etc. No it doesn’t have wheels, but still isn’t a problem to move around.

Not the absolute cheapest adjustable bench out there, but it’s the cheapest one I would consider when you have hundreds of lbs over your head.

One of the questions I saw asked if it declined. No it does not. It will go down a tiny bit but then the back of the bench is laying on the adjustment tabs, don’t do it.
