With gyms being closed my husband and I got serious about taking care of our health and fitness at home by sacrificing our car park space and converting our garage into a home gym. Every 6 weeks we switch up our daily workout sets and we print them out and keep them in the garage. I was tracking my weights and reps but realized I needed a better system.
What I like about these pages are that it’s spiral bound so I can flip open to the entry I’m recording and fill out what I need.
There’s not a lot of wasted space or pages either since I already know what exercises we will be doing and I can fill out any commentary in the notes section (I note things about how my back/shoulders are feeling during squats or deadlifts, and anything I tried to tweak my form better).
Currently we do an upper and lower body split. Which means two days or more go by before rotating through the same exercise again. Recording what weight, how many reps, how my form went from the time before is helpful.
I also like not using my phone for tracking as it can be distracting (esp at home with no one waiting on equipment). Writing it down is so handy.
Lastly, because the book is a practical black plastic cover. It’s robust and universal enough that my husband has requested I order one for him the next time I fill up my cart at amazon.

This is exactly what I wanted. It helps me keep track of my weights and reps per workout. I generally do the same workouts over and over but as I slightly change them up here and there it’s great to have a record of it that I can reference. I also keep track of body fat measurements and weight occasionally for easy reference as well. It’s nice that it has a little note section.

This book may seem like “Old-School”…I mean “Paper??”…”Notes??”! But it is so natural to jot my workout notes down as I do my routine. And it actually helps me “Do my routine”! Very well-designed. Glad I found this product. I would buy again. Highly recommended.

Has everything you need notes, how good you are feeling room for cardio and notes for muscle group and your weight if you are tracking it

I would not say it’s for beginners necessarily because you have to write your own workouts but it’s easy to read and helps me prepare and keep track

I love how easy it is to use. I have a Fitbit, but I am unable to track things mentally while using it. This let’s me really get a handle on how and when I am exercising. As well as how my daily goals look in terms of exercise only, which is what I wanted it for.

I wish I would have found this journal sooner; It’s so well thought out and designed! The little notebook I was using before is unorganized and hard to refer back to for progress. I’ve been following @jherbfit for free daily workouts and now have something to write them down on for later!

I was looking for fitness log because I was gifted one about 6 months ago and loved it. This time when I was looking I wanted a little more. This one fits my needs perfectly. I really love that in the second page has a list of months so you can get a visual of your workout consistency. This is a huge bonus for me as I helps me be accountable. For the daily pages I love that is separates weight and reps and leaves enough space for you to write the exercises you do. One limitation I have found with apps is that if you have variation with your lifts like wide or narrow stance with deadlifts, it is not as easy to specify. This book has enough space for you to easily add this in. I also like the note and rate workout sections. This allows you to keep track of how you are feeling and anything else that could impact your workout such as a high stress day, or if you got a nap in so you were feeling extra strong. The book itself is the perfect size. Overall I am very happy with this item. I plan to buy another one for my boyfriend to use.
