Description
We like to be inspired when it comes to food. No one enjoys cookie-cutter meal plans, bland recipes, or eating the same thing every day. Instead of worrying about what to eat and how it’s going to affect our bodies, we should embrace food freedom—freedom to create flavorful meals, but in a more calorie-conscious way; freedom to indulge occasionally while being mindful of portions; and freedom to achieve wellness goals without breaking the bank.
In Fit Men Cook, Kevin Curry, fitness expert and social media sensation with millions of followers and hundreds of thousands of downloads on his app, shares everything you need to live a healthy life each day—from grocery lists to common dieting pitfalls to his ten commandments of meal prep—as well as his personal story of overcoming depression and weight gain to start a successful business and fitness movement. This guide also includes 100+ easy and flavorful recipes like Southern-Inspired Banana Corn Waffles, Sweet Potato Whip, Juicy AF Moroccan Chicken, and many more to help you plan your week and eat something new and nutritious each day. With Fit Men Cook, you can create exciting, satisfying meals and be on your way to losing weight for good.
After all, bodies may be sculpted at the gym, but they are built in the kitchen.

As someone who is passionate about maintaining a healthy lifestyle and enjoys experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen, I was thrilled to come across the “Fit Men Cook: 100+ Meal Prep Recipes for Men and Women” cookbook. Let me tell you, it has exceeded all my expectations and has quickly become an essential part of my meal planning routine.
First and foremost, let’s talk about variety. This cookbook offers a diverse range of over 100 recipes, ensuring that there’s something for everyone, regardless of dietary preferences or restrictions. From vibrant salads and hearty soups to flavorful main dishes and guilt-free desserts, each recipe is thoughtfully curated to provide both nutrition and taste without ever compromising on flavor.
What truly sets this cookbook apart is its emphasis on healthy, wholesome ingredients. Every recipe is designed to be #HealthyAF, packed with nutrient-dense ingredients that nourish the body and fuel an active lifestyle. Whether you’re looking to build muscle, lose weight, or simply adopt a more balanced approach to eating, you’ll find plenty of delicious and nutritious options to choose from.
Another aspect that I appreciate is the emphasis on meal prep. As someone with a busy schedule, I often find it challenging to eat healthily throughout the week. However, with the meal prep tips and strategies provided in this cookbook, I’ve been able to streamline my meal planning process and ensure that I always have nutritious meals on hand, even on the busiest of days.
In terms of presentation, the cookbook is beautifully laid out with vibrant photography and clear, easy-to-follow instructions. Each recipe is accompanied by nutritional information, making it easy to track macros and stay on top of your health goals. I also appreciate the author’s engaging writing style and personal anecdotes, which add a touch of personality and motivation to the book.
Overall, I cannot recommend the “Fit Men Cook” cookbook enough. Whether you’re a seasoned chef or a novice in the kitchen, this book is sure to inspire you to get cooking and embrace a healthier lifestyle. With its delicious recipes, practical meal prep tips, and focus on nutritious ingredients, it’s a must-have resource for anyone looking to take control of their health and wellness journey.

So far I have cooked 21 of the book’s recipes. Of the 21 only 2 I would not make again. My favourites are the Thyme Cheesburger Breakfast Casserole (page 101), Thai Chicken & Sweet Potato (page 142) and the Budget Sweet Potato Lasagna (page 226). My most frequently used recipe would be the Lean Tex-Mex Turkey Chili (page 120). Many of the recipes offer easy-to-find substitutes for some of the harder to find ingredients.

Buy this book today. I have never had a cookbook with so many pictures. I haven’t counted but at first flip there appear to be only a handful of recipes without corresponding photos. Kevin Curry is an inspiration. He keeps it real with plans & tips for real people who live in the real world with actual food budgets. This cookbook is so much more than a batch of recipes. I was delighted by part one which details an array of meal plans & outlines food philosophy. From cover to cover Mr. Curry shares with you his passion for food.
The #1 element setting apart this cookbook from the last Keto Cookbook I bought is generousity. Kevin doesn’t leave anything on the table he pours out his knowledge & personal experience with such abundance I couldn’t put the book down. Not only are there countless recipes some of the recipe pages contain lists of swaps to create entirely different flavors.
I really love the pantry shopping list because I bought these items this weekend in anticipation of my Amazon delivery and I could already create the majority of the recipes by only needing to pick up 1 or 2 ingredients. Unlike other cookbooks that contain such odd or hard to find ingredients you break the bank before you start. Simple but never boring.
I am very appreciative for the variation provided. Low carb, low sugar, low salt and low fat or high fat options based on regular normal everyday easy to follow recipes. I’m not a chef and neither is my husband but we loved the pro tips that Kevin provides throughout the very playful and colorful pages.
The goal my husband & I have set for 2019 is to retrain our affections concerning meal planning, shopping, prepping and eating. This FMC Cookbook is a true blessing. Mr. Curry if you read this review I want you to know we a overjoyed by what you have shared & are so thankful you continued on your journey to the point that your book has a home in our humble kitchen.

I got this book as an anniversary gift for my Fiancé and it’s perfect. It has all the recipes categorized in the title for gluten free, dairy free, favourites, high protein, low carb, etc. It even has suggestions. So worth the price!

I have been watching Kevin Curry on his YouTube channel, FitMenCook, for a few years now. I use his app as well. I love his creativity and thoroughness when it comes to recipes and macros. That definitely translates to his first in-print cookbook.
Here’s what I like:
– Great photos (of course);
– all the macros for the recipes are listed and easy to read/understand;
– recipes are simple, easy to follow, and won’t take 40 minutes of prep to do;
– his philosophy of colorful, flavorful, healthy food definitely shines through;
– the introductory chapter is not overwhelming and is really great for someone just starting to learn to cook healthier for themselves; and,
– he thoughtfully takes into account many different eating preferences/needs and marks all of his recipes accordingly.
I’m really happy this book is finally out and have shared it with all of my coworkers. I was able to flip through the book and show them recipes I had made of his before (Jambalaya, Shepherd’s Pie, Lasagna) and have adapted for my own needs. They were all very impressed as well.
The only real negative is really that you can’t hear his cheesy “dad jokes” and the subsequent crack up with the printed book, but then there’s always the YouTube channel for that… 🙂 And maybe future prints could include a spiral bound, to make it easier to have in the kitchen while cooking?
Great purchase and highly recommended as a gift for people that think eating healthy is hard and unappetizing.
