Great bag, I have it installed already and I feel like my sons are really enjoying it. It’s sturdy and it’s exactly what I was looking for.

The Everlast 70-Pound MMA Heavy-Bag Kit in black is a solid investment for anyone interested in boxing or MMA training. It’s exceptionally well-made, constructed to withstand the most rigorous workouts. My son, an avid enthusiast, uses it daily and swears by its durability.

The 70-pound weight provides a satisfying resistance, making it perfect for building strength and improving striking techniques. The kit includes gloves and wraps, which is a nice added value.

Its stability is impressive; it stays securely in place during intense workouts, minimizing disruptions. The bag’s surface texture is just right, providing a realistic feel when punching and kicking.

Overall, this Everlast heavy-bag kit is a fantastic addition to any home gym setup. Its quality construction, durability, and comprehensive kit make it a great choice for both beginners and experienced fighters. My son loves it, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking to level up their trainiGood quality – very solid bag. The chain and hookup was very easy. I bought a couple of extra clips to adjust the height. The gloves were an added bonus.

Nice heavy durable punching bag that feels good when punching.

My wife and I wanted to get a bag to hang in the garage to work out on. This bag was slightly shorter than I expected, but that’s a non-issue – it’s a starter bag, and it’s plenty big enough for the average person starting off. The materials are constructed well, the gloves that come with it are useful and nice (although the thumbs are open, which is weird to me). I HIGHLY recommend picking up the “Everlast Double End Heavy Bag Anchor” to go along with this to keep the bag secure. Without it it’s a bit hard to get a decent rhythm going on the bag. Plus by not stabilizing the bag you could place extra strain on your wrist by striking the bag as it swings back, increasing the impact. It just doesn’t seem ideal.

(I’m not a trainer or anything remotely close to knowledgeable on the subject – for all I know there’s a perfectly valid reason to allow the bag to swing around all loosey goosey, it just seems like a bad idea, and in my limited experience with boxing/martial arts, I’ve always used either an anchored bag, had a spotter to hold the bag, or used a bag so heavy I couldn’t Captain America punch it to make it move.)

To hang it I bought a D ring bracket and mounted it to a stud in the ceiling of the attic with some really long decking screws, but the screws are already starting to work themselves a little loose due to all the stress being placed on it, so I’m going to try and find a way to modify the mount. I do recommend you plan through where and how you’ll mount the bag beforehand so that you don’t find an excuse to put off setting it up and using it. It did take 2 people to hang the bag – one to hold it, and one to attach it. I probably should have had a 3rd person helping me hold it, but apparently I enjoy back aches and stubbornness.

Once you get it setup, if you’re not familiar with using a punching bag, you might be surprised at how intense of a workout it can be. 15-30 minutes of consistent, rhythmic punching, keeping your core tight, along with plenty of hip and leg movements (don’t statue up and just stand there; dance around the bag a little) will conjure up a sweat pretty quick; you’ll be sore faster than you expected to be. Just be sure you’re making a solid connection with the bag, and you aren’t hitting it at an angle that twists or snaps your wrists – a wrist sprain will end the fun pretty quickly.

OH and DON’T use the bag bare knuckled or with just the wraps on – USE GLOVES. The first day I set it up I just had wraps on and was lightly hitting the bag (not full-on workout, just goofing around) and managed to take the skin off my knuckles on both hands without realizing it, which made actually wearing the gloves and using the bag much less comfortable later on. (I did look like I got into a fist fight, though, and just kept saying “you should see the other guy” when people asked what happened…)

tl;dr: buy the bag, use the gloves.

This is a great value for an entry level setup. Because others said the stitching failed quickly on the straps, I wrapped the top 4” in black gorilla tape to help hold everything in place up there and spread out the weight burden. No issues at all with the bag or stitching.

The wraps are solid for entry level and amateur boxing work. There are plenty of videos online that show different wraps styles. These wraps do a good job of keeping everything in place like they are meant to do.

The gloves are basic MMA style training gloves (thumbs out). They are sufficient for bag work. Kind of a one size fits all, so smaller hands may have some issues with them sliding around slightly, but that is to be expected when buying a starter set like this. They are good for the bag, not so much for sparring.

This bag does come with the bungee and a loop on the bottom of the bag to use a weight for bag stability. Doesn’t come with the official bag weight though.

Overall, this bag is exactly what I expected it to be and I have been able to put in good work on it over the several weeks I have had it (3-4 workouts per week ranging from 30 – 60 minutes) without any of the quality issues others have reported.

The gloves are pretty terrible. The bag though. This bag is pretty freaking awesome for the price. $62 shipped? A co-worker of mine and I both bought the same bag. We discussed how they can possibly sell this SHIPPED for $62. The bag is very well made. It comes with carabiner connectors at both ends of the chain. Hanging it is so easy with those instead of bolts or those other twist lock things. At a normal height garage ceiling the bag hangs right where it needs to be. If you have a tall ceiling you might need an extension. The wrist wraps are standard cloth wraps. I prefer the Pro-Impact 180″ Mexican style wraps so I can wrap my fingers and have the elasticity component.

Only four stars because of the gloves. Oh so bad. If you buy this bag don’t use the gloves. They are skinny and hard. You really need to get good gloves. Your hands and wrists are valuable. I guess if you are small framed and don’t want to hit the bag hard they might be sufficient.
