The foam on the handle bar was ripped when it arrived but it didn’t look like it would affect the function of the machine so that was ok. Used it for the first 2 days and it worked fine, built up a sweat after 10 mins of use so it’s not super challenging in terms of cardio. During the 3rd day of use I heard something fall on the floor and 2 screws came out. The steps stopped sliding and a bit of plastic always dropped out. I have contacted customer service and they are at least very responsive. I have asked for a refund as whatever the issue it might have been a well designed machine shouldn’t break on the 3rd time of use! However they insisted it’s a new product and there hasn’t been any reported issues so they are sending out an engineer to look at it. Crossing my fingers it will get fixed but not holding my breath on it not breaking again. I would advise not to buy this product for now until there is more reviews from other users. I took a risk as really enjoy a step master workout, but clearly this product is still too new to be reliable. Hope this review helps others and I hope Amazon is able to help me get my money back from Echelon if they can’t fix it or if it breaks again.

Product is sturdy and came assembled in the box. All I had to do was set it up and attach the display. Batteries aren’t included. It is a bit heavy but I appreciate that about it. It doesn’t feel cheap.
I like the different levels of resistance as well. While on it, it glides steady and smoothly. It gets my heart rate up pretty quickly so it’s a good product for cardio and building muscle since there is resistance. I like that is is quiet while in use. The fact that it is so compact is another huge perk. After my work out, I can slide it right into the closer. Love this equipment so far!

I can’t believe the work out you get!! I saw commercials but sometimes they are hard to trust! This is exactly as it says it is! I get an intense workout in about 10 minutes. The resistance is perfect to tone it up or down! The best part is how easy it is to fold up and pack away and carry from room to room.
Set up was maybe 15 minutes. Well constructed for myself and my husband to use. I love this brand and I have a few other equipment pieces from this company – I’ve made a pretty cool home gym and this stairclimber is the perfect final addition. Totally recommend for a great, affordable, all over work out!!!

Shipping: The item was damaged while shipped. Handle is broken off to tighten the handle bar and front plastic is cracked. Wish I could buy a new handle.
Stepper:The item itself seems to function ok. You do work up a sweat quickly. I still prefer a step mill but this will be ok for the price.

Flimsy. Broken off a 75kg user

I am a trail runner, but it’s not always possible to get outside where there are hills. I can really tell this has helped my ability to hike uphill.
It was ridiculously easy to set up. But be aware that out of the box, it can make a terrible metal on metal sound. I had to take a bottom cover off and either tighten or loosen one spot, now it is almost silent. It does squeak when a pedal goes to the bottom, but it’s not bad enough where I’m looking to fix it yet.
I personally think this was well worth the money. And I love that it is manual and no expensive, heavy motor. It’s great!!

I need to get in shape & hate going to the gym, so I ordered the Echelon Stair Climber Sport. I wanted something that would give me a good workout without impact on my joints (I’m 70 years old & that’s a huge issue for me). Right off the bat I was impressed that the setup was pretty much pull it out of the box & connect the monitor. With 3 incline settings it’s a quick lift & put into the slot (like a reclining beach chair). I started on the lowest setting since I hadn’t worked out in a long time. The resistance is a simple twist of a knob & it’s completely within reach as you’re stepping, so if you need it harder (or easier) it’s easy to do. The screen gives me all the info for tracking your workout. I also like the fact that once I build up a little stamina I’ll be able to do different exercise programs on the Echelon app. The unit is heavy which is a plus & a minus. The plus is that it doesn’t bounce around & it’s nice & quiet. I don’t worry about it tipping or tilting. But, it also means that moving it is cumbersome. It folds down easily to slide under the bed. That being said, if it’s under the bed, I won’t use it, so having it set up all of the time is a good reminder. The price point is the BEST that I found for a piece of exercise equipment of this caliber. I am really happy with it.

UPDATE 4/28/24: NO CUSTOMER SERVICE BY ECHELON
Shortly after writing the below 5 star review, this stair climber that I absolutely love, developed the obnoxious stealing you can hear in the video I’ve uploaded here. I contacted Echelon immediately and hav now waited 3 weeks for the promised response after uploading same video, proof or purchase/delivery and all requested information. In 3 weeks there has been no follow-up whatsoever and can’t use the stair climber. I can no longer recommend this product with such complete lack of customer service especially within the warranty period and this soon after purchase.
Rarely do I make a purchase of fitness equipment in this price range without trying it out first. This was purchased with the hope it would meet my expectations. It has exceeded them. Well built, well packaged (UPS got it here in excellent condition). The design concept is brilliant and for the most part, well-executed. For those familiar with Total Gym’s Commercial line, Encompass, Elevate and GTS, this is how Total Gym would build a stair climber. Two separate foot “pedals” run on bearings in separate metal tracks. The magnetic resistance is accomplished by two pulley wheels, upper and lower, connected by belt that moves the flywheel similar to an eddy brake. Translation: super smooth motion with a good range of “not much to really intense” adjustable resistance. In addition you have 3 adjustable incline levels to ramp up your workout. You can work cardio, strength, endurance and surprisingly ankle range of motion, knee ROM and hip ROM. Set-up out of the box was simple, put the handle bars in the appropriate position ( 1st or a combined 2nd/3rd position) and set the incline for the base at one of three levels. Note: the handlebars are designed to be set at the same level as the incline.
Pros: Well built, straight forward design. Quality materials. Easy transport and fold-up. Three incline levels, adjustable magnetic resistance.
Cons: Could use better marking and screw knobs for Handle bars. Even with tightening, I can still feel some movement in the handlebars in first position. Wish they’d included a lockdown mechanism to keep the incline bar in place when folded down, am using a bungee to keep it from moving when in transport.
All in all, for a first generation piece of equipment its worth the investment.
