I’m impressed with these dumbbells, especially compared to much pricier options. They switch weight easily and have a comfortable grip (it is a bit larger in diameter than others, but if you’re lifting 55lbs, you won’t mind the extra grip area). I will note that the ends of the dumbbells is a dense plastic, not metal, so if you expect to bang them together when you finish a bench press, then you probably want to find a different design as I don’t think these would tolerate that. I’m not concerned about durability though, they seem plenty strong as long as you aren’t bouncing them together or dropping them on the floor.
I have a low table to set them on, that makes it better for picking up the full weight, and there are various stand options that should fit these fine too.

These are really easy to use and the 5-pound increment adjustments make it perfect for slight increases over time. The finish and flat edges are great for placing on the floor without rolling, and the grip is strong. Not worth a star reduction, but my only issue is that the base moves around on the floor when placing the entire 55-pound dumbbell back in the stand. Perhaps some feet in a future design will help prevent this?

We bought a pair of this dumbbells because we live in a condo building and space is limited. We used them 3 times and the 3rd time the weight plate dropped and made a dent on the floor. We were so terrified imagining what if it happened during the workout when the dumbbell was above our head or body. We chose CAP because of the brand so even if it’s more expensive we think it must be more reliable than some other unheard brand. Now we just don’t trust this adjustable product in general. Buy and use with cautious if you still plan to.

For the low price, this is a bargain for those who want to measure their progress for weight lifting. Changing weight amounts is pretty easy, and the grip is sturdy. The only slight issue I have (which is why this is at 4 stars), is the ease of use on occasion.
You do have to be very exact when putting the weights back to increase amounts, and I have often found that the dumbbell catches wrong and it ends up sticking (so you have to pull the weight back out). This is no problem in general. However, if you’re in the middle of a workout and need to switch weights, (if your arms are starting to become jello) it becomes a little difficult at times to increase/decrease weights.
But overall, this is still a good buy! No regrets.
