Description

  • [Lightweight design] Compared to traditional boxing gloves, this headgear has a lightweight design. It weighs only around 210g, so it can be worn comfortably by anyone regardless of gender and does not hinder head movement. It is ideal for kickboxing and boxing training.
  • [180 degree wide viewing angle] The open face design ensures a wide 180 degree field of view. The forehead does not extend down, so it does not restrict the movement of the nose, chin, or mouth, and does not cause discomfort. While your opponent is getting used to traditional heavy headgear, you can already start punching and moving! Gain an advantage in boxing and kickboxing matches.
  • [High-quality material] The outer layer is made of thick, high-quality PU material, and the inner layer is a three-layer composite cushioning material. The outermost layer is a high-density EPE layer, the middle layer is a low-density EPE layer to absorb shock, and the layer in contact with the skin is a 1 cm thick high-density sponge. It is durable enough to withstand the hard training of boxing and kickboxing.
  • [Independent Zone Protection] The entire face is covered with a one-piece protective layer and carefully sewn by hand to firmly secure the soft and comfortable inner layer and provide sufficient protection. The ear part has a simple design to reduce pressure. The back of the head has a large Velcro strap placed in a sandwich shape, allowing you to adjust the head circumference significantly while providing sufficient protection. It can also handle the intense movements of boxing and kickboxing.
  • Adjustable chin strap: The chin strap uses a simple fastening method that combines a loop and Velcro, allowing you to effectively adjust the tightness of the bottom of the headgear. You can adjust the tightness to suit your preferences. It fits comfortably even during boxing or kickboxing training.
  • [Non-slip head strap] The top of the head is made of wear-resistant PU rope with an innovative non-slip function. The high friction coefficient keeps the top of the head firmly in place. It is easy to adjust by yourself or with the help of others, and the rope will not slip and lose its fixing power even if you sweat. It is safe even during intense boxing and kickboxing training.

This VALCHIRIA Starlight headgear is pretty nice and will do a good job for beginners or light sparring. As an American Kenpo Black Belt, I have several sets of head gear from armature gear to pro gear. When sparring gets serious, the blows and kicks are very powerful. This head gear wouldn’t be able to blunt the blow from these types of strikes and kicks. For light sparring or for those who are just starting out, this gear is perfect.

The strap on the back is about 4-inches wide and the hook and loop is strong. It also ties on the top to be able to tighten up the headset. It also has pretty nice ear protection to help with serious injuries. It came a little warped, but I was quickly able to straighten it out (See Photos). The headgear also has a nice strong tie on the top of it to tighten things up. The strap around the back is about 4-inches wide and has a separate pad that covers the back of the head. This pad is secured by the hook and loop enclosures that tighten up the headgear.

The headgear also has a hook and loop enclosure around the chin. The strap is a bit long as seen in my photos. Overall, I like this and will be using it with some of my students. It does run a bit small. I have several other pieces of headgear and all of them are medium size. After reading other reviews, I ordered the L/XL and fits me perfectly.

This is a good piece of equipment. I use it for sparring practice with my son. Does it’s job well, and it doesn’t break the bank.

I wear a size 7 1/4 hat size, and this fits me with no issues. It’s comfortable and provides the protection I expect for 50% speed sparring.

I was not familiar with the Raytos brand of safety gear until I ordered one of their full face headgears listed here on Amazon. It was a very good, economically priced head protector so I ordered this less expensive version to see the difference.
This is a full face headgear except it does not cover the chin but has a Velcro chin strap instead. While that makes it easier to put on and take off quickly, it cuts down on the protective coverage of the headgear.
The headgear is covered in PU leather over firm foam and has a nice wide Velcro closure at the back. Unlike the more expensive version, this head piece has no additional padding to protect the ears and the faux leather laces that secure the fit of the top of the headgear are a bit cumbersome. They also have a tendency to loosen after a couple rounds of sparring, requiring tightening or re-tying.
Overall, this headgear will provide basic safety protection but is not the best available option from this company. Even if you’re budget minded, I would recommend moving up a few bucks to Raytos’s next level headgear with the full face and chin protection.

I got a couple of these from Raytos in black for light sparring (boxing) with my 16 year old son in the house or back yard. They offer great protection when being hit with 14oz gloves. We usually start of light and get more aggressive as we get hit more. So it’s nice to have these when we get carried away.

  5. C.M.P.

Great headgear for boxing! My kids wear this while they are using their boxing gloves with each other and it works well to protect them.

  6. NvRainy

This headgear is very comfortable and fits well like it’s supposed to. Perfect for boxing or MMA sparring. It is well made with firm padding and great quality Velcro strips.

  7. Scott

This is a very goodlight weight piece of headgear. It stays on well when you’re sparring and/or rolling. The material is very thin, which allows it to be lighter, but it still provides great shot absorption. Nice price. Good buy.

Meets industry standards for protection, fits most size heads, easy to put on with adjustable velcro straps, well made , good material, good for the cost .
