I like that the punching bag kit comes with the air pump and a pair of boxing gloves that fit my hands perfectly. So you don’t need to buy an air pump or buy any gloves, have everything that you need in the box. You have to first put water or a sand at the bottom base to keep it up while you’re hitting the punching bag. My only gripe with this punching bag is that it tends to lean to the side a little bit, no matter what I do to push it to the opposite side so I just kept it right there. I enjoy using the punching bag and incorporating it into my workout sessions. Any guess that I have at my home always feels compelled to hit it at least once before they leave.

I’ve been using the 71″ Heavy Standing Punching Bag for a few weeks now, and I’m really impressed with the quality. The bag is sturdy, holds up really well, and provides great resistance for all types of training – whether it’s MMA, boxing, or just general fitness. The thickened material feels durable, and I love that it’s freestanding, so I don’t have to worry about mounting anything to the wall. Setup was a breeze. It comes with everything you need, including the boxing gloves and an automatic pump to inflate the bag. The instructions were easy to follow, and within minutes, I had it up and ready to go. This works great in the home for all the teens and is already loved however, it falls over easily if base is only filled with air. I will not fill with water as to high of a concern for mold so will be filling with sand soon enough but when held it did great for punching and work out so I am hopeful it will work even better once filled with sand.

I can work on techniques such as evading and footwork, if I’m using it alone because it has a lot of spring to it. If you’re working out with another person, one can apply support on the other side each time it’s struck. Since my sparring partner days are in the past, this bag provides family benefits. Now my daughters and I have a great bag to workout with. I can coach and push or encourage them to go harder. It makes more sense for me to use it to assist me in coaching them; than using it alone. This is always the case because you net more positive synergistic results. My 12-year old has more fun punching this full length heavy bag, than she does hitting focus mitts. Plus by having me there to absorb and steady the bag from bouncing around will prolong this bag’s lifespan.
Things I encountered when setting this bag up:
Anyone who orders the bag would know what it comes with; but I wanted to provide some feedback. I like that they included gloves and an electric air pump. If I was unsure of what to order and had to pick out a bag and then also shop for gloves, it would overwhelm me. Yet, by having a kit with all you need, means everyone can get started. If one needs to order different gloves, they’d already have an informed decision.
Some feedback about the items included:
The 12 oz. gloves feel pretty good in quality. They are also versatile. I’m over 40 and these gloves fit my hands and my daughter’s hands too. I like that the gloves allow my hands to breathe. There’s nothing like getting a blister to distract & detract from your training. It’s great that they included an electric pump make it easy to inflate. There are 3 sections to this bag. The lower section is for filling with water/sand. The mid air bag section gives the upper bag flexibility. It took around 4 minutes to fill the both air bags.
Some tips about filling the upper bag. When I first filled the bag with air, I didn’t have the top air nozzle closed all the way. I made an oversight and needed to push the top air nozzle down into the bag further. By having the nozzle seat below the top surface of the bag will ensure a tight seal. Also, I was timid and didn’t fill the bags as full as they could withstand. Once I filled the middle and upper bags more full of air (per the instructions), the bag was sturdier.
In the event you’d need to maneuver the bag around, I recommend placing the bag on a movable surface (such as a mat). I put this heavy bag in our (currently) unfinished basement where there is no water faucet yet. I didn’t have any sand available so I filled the lower bag with water (upstairs in our kitchen). After the 5th gallon point, any more water was going to become difficult to carry it all down myself. So I made many trips up and down the stairs a gallon at a time. I used a funnel to get the water into the bag. It required about 11 gallons to fill it. My wife asked how I planned on emptying the bag (at some point in the future). It was a good question and so I plan to use our wet/dry shop-vacuum to empty the bag.
If you have sand available, I’d recommend going that route. My only concern with opting to fill it with water is that over time, the lower bag may develop a tear. By supporting the bag when my daughters hit it will cut the chances down it tears anytime soon. I will check the health of the lower bag for leaks often.

this is perfect for a pre teen to practice some karate on. Simple to set up just fill the base with water and use the included electric pump. the gloves that come with this are just cheesy plastic.
