I am taking an active role in my physical well being. I know how important fish oil is. I know it will be worth it. I take 3 per day as directed. There is no bad taste or smell when I take them. They are easy to swallow. The size seems large but don’t let that worry you. This is a value for the price. This is a very good quality. I also bought pill organizers to keep the large bottles off the counter. Very functional this way.

Better than having my late mother chase me with a tablespoon of cod liver oil

Can’t really tell if it works or not. How would I even know? But I give it 5 stars bc there’s no fish smell.

Worked well and my dog is able to eat it without problems, however, he is a very large dog and if your dog was small, I don’t think they could eat this

The pharmaceutical industry standard is to tell the consumer how many milligrams are in each pill or capsule on the front of the container label. This is normally expressed as 250mg, 500mg, etc. Doctors Way Fish Oil uses large font to print 3000mg on the label with smaller font for the word “Serving”. If one reads the fine print on the back, you will discover that it takes 3 pills to make one serving. Simple math: each capsule is 1000mg of fish oil. This is what the label on the front should say! I suspect this “3000mg” on the front of the label is intentionally designed to be misleading. As for me, I do not like the idea of having to read the fine print on the back of medicine labels to learn what I am really getting. Thus, I just will not purchase any more products from “Doctors Way”.

I take these everyday, twice a day. They don’t smell that bad, not like other brands where you open and want to gag. Definitely not like that at all. These will be my new brand.

Supplements help close the gap between modern nutrition levels in our food, and the levels that were there when I was young. But, in my opinion, the supplement industry has both some of the highest integrity companies, and some of the lowest. So I try and give a detailed enough review to get to know the company and product better, to help you determine for yourself whether or not you want to try this one out.
This bottle comes a little more than half full.
If used as directed it will last 50 days. With the room in the bottle, I’d prefer they put in a full 60 days’ worth, or use a smaller bottle (but I’d rather have 60 days’ worth =).
I like my supplements to say organic, non-GMO, GMP-certified, 3rd-party tested, and made in the USA. The product page says non-GMO, lab tested (does not indicate if by 3rd party), and has a GMP stamp. Doctor’s Way is related to Horbaach, which has a long history in the supplement industry and they manufacture in the USA.
I have started looking at supplement companies more closely because I’ve come across so many questionable ones. I recently discovered that Horbaach shares some roots with Carlyle Nutritionals and Tahoe Nutritionals, and I trust all three; it began back in 1971. Their horbaach site is functional, as is their phone number (which is on the bottle and on their site).
I seem to take longer than most to see results when starting a new supplement, but I like the company, the quality of ingredients (no nasty fillers, and the fish oil is purified to remove mercury), and the price.
Thank you for reading, I hope it was helpful.
