These protein shakes are a convenient option with 30 grams of protein and only 160 calories per bottle. Each one contains only 1 gram of sugar, with no added sugar at all, but the shakes do contain sucralose and acesulfame potassium for sweetness.
The shake smells JUST LIKE Fruity Pebbles, but the taste fell a little flat for me. I think if I hadn’t smelled it first, I wouldn’t have been so disappointed because the aroma was just perfect! The flavor is mildly reminiscent of drinking your leftover milk after a bowl of Fruity Pebbles, but obviously you will not have any of that over-the-top, sugary sweetness. Yet, the sucralose and acesulfame potassium give the shake too much artificial sweetness for my taste.
The texture was pretty good. It wasn’t overly thick, but the shake seemed to leave a film in my mouth that I couldn’t get rid of. If I hated it, I wouldn’t have been able to finish the bottle. However, while I thought I had shaken it well before drinking it, the very last bit of the drink was my least favorite part. The bottle comes with an easily removable, zip-off label for recycling, and no matter how hard I shook it when trying to rinse it out, I couldn’t get rid of the residue in the bottom of the bottle. So, just be sure to REALLY shake your shake before drinking to minimize any thickness or chalkiness in your last few sips.

My husband’s quick take on the product:
It kinda tastes like a good imitation of the milk at the bottom of a bowl of cocoa pebbles, just less sweet and if you had used skim milk. Actually not bad, it’s not an over chocolaty drink nor is it sickening sweet, but it could be more chocolatey.
(He is also a HUGE fan of the label coming off fully- and NOT for recycling. He’s just a big kid who likes to see himself drink the chocolate milk. LOL He’s also decided he likes it enough to drink it purely because he wants to.)

Ok- so I have to drink a lot of protein. Doctor’s orders. As such, I am far too familiar with it. Although chocolate tends to taste better than other flavors generally speaking, I am still not a fan most of the time. So- I did not hold out hope that this would be wonderful.
While it was not wonderful, I was pleasantly surprised. There is very little protein flavor to it. It still exists, but is at a very low level, and not because there is an obscene amount of flavoring going on to cover it, from what I can tell. It is a bit thick, but overall it kind of reminds me of a low-grade chocolate milk, possibly mixed with some additional white milk. ( As I actually tend to mix my premixed chocolate with white when I drink it, I do not find this to be a bad flavor.)
I do NOT, however, agree with my husband’s assessment. Unlike him, I DO drink skim milk on occasion, and have even had it with cocoa pebbles. I don’t really think this tastes like it, and it definitely does not have the mouth feel. Especially with 3 grams of fat I can feel on my tongue. (Likely one of the measures they take to help with the protein flavor.) I can get where he’s coming from, though, since the slight graininess in this drink is made to taste and feel like the chocolate crumbs in cereal rather than the protein grain.
Where I do agree is that it is a light chocolate flavor, and as far as the basic flavors go (vanilla, strawberry, and chocolate) it really ISN’T bad. And yes, it would be ok if it were slightly more chocolatey.
What I actually found surprising was that it tastes… acceptable… at [nearly] room temperature. This is not generally true for protein drinks.
As an aside: while my husband is familiar with this brand, I am not. I have seen the “Pebbles” flavors around (mostly fruity, but also chocolate), but other than that was unfamiliar.
It IS awful expensive, though.

Really enjoyed this protein shake! It has 30 grams of high-quality protein per bottle, which really helps with recovery. Plus, it actually tastes like Cocoa Pebbles which is super nostalgic and surprisingly good!
